Under ‘Type’ you can choose whether or not to chart in dollars or percent change, and whether or not to see total return or not. When more than one item is being charted, the y-axis unit will always be percent change in price. However, if you have only one stock in the chart, you can select whether it displays by price (in dollars), or by percent change in price, with candlesticks, or in logarithmic pricing by clicking the ‘Settings’ heading in the top right of the chart panel. Price Logarithmic scale is a linear scale for percent change. The distance between 10 and 15 (50% change), is the same as the distance between 100 and 150.

Also listed under Settings are Options where you can choose to Link Main Table to Chart, Adjust Price for Dividends or have Crosshairs off. Linking the chart to the Table means that an item clicked in the Table will automatically be charted as the main ticker in the chart. If the chart is unlinked, then you can click freely in the Table without affecting the chart.

Candlestick has an additional menu option as seen below where you can set the time periods with either Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Please note with candlesticks it will flip from daily to weekly candlesticks if the time period is too long for the size of the chart panel.

We have written a blog post that illustrates benefits of weekly and monthly candlestick charts.

One option available when you have technicals or fundamentals diplayed in multiple charts is to move them up and down within the chart panel. The top chart can’t be moved but the fundamental or technical charts can be. The ability to move a chart can be found under the three bar icon next to the X icon as pictured below.

Another option available is when the Volume technical is in the chart. As displayed in the screenshot below, there is the ability to color the volume chart to show positive and negative changes from the opening price. Also it shows the ability to chart to the moving average.

An additonal option will appear under the three bar icon when MACD, RSI, or Money Flow Index is charted, here you can make the setting changes right next to the chart itself.

These are the options available when MACD is charted.
